We are pleased to report that in 2008 we have awarded six Bill Holm Center Visiting Research Grants to Shgen George (Tlingit, Juneau, AK), Arlene Skinner (N.Cheyenne/Sioux, Kodiak Island, AK), George Bennett, Sr. (Tlingit, Sitka, AK), Jim Heaton (Haines, AK), Felix Solomon (Lummi, Bellingham, WA), and Manuel Salazar (Cowichan, Renton, WA).

We encourage non-University of Washington researchers and artists to apply for our Visiting Research Grants by January 15, 2009. These grants will fund visits for artists and researchers to study the Burke Museum's collections.

Thank you to all the donors whose contributions to the Bill Holm Center endowments have made this research center a reality! While our physical space at the Burke Museum is limited, our Web site is growing.
